Effects

Minimize raises the user's Evasion by two stages, thus making the user more difficult to hit. Stats can be raised to a maximum of +6 stages each.

The following moves deal double damage against a Pokémon that has used Minimize, and bypass accuracy checks:

Changes

  • In Generations 1-5, Minimize has 20 PP.
  • In Generations 1-2 a Pokémon that has used Minimize is shown with a tiny sprite, until they faint or switch out.
  • In Generations 1-4 Minimize only raises Evasion one stage.
  • In Generations 1-5 the accuracy bypass for the double-damage moves does not occur.
  • Across generations different moves deal double damage against Minimize:
    Gen 1: no moves.
    Gen 2: Stomp.
Gen 3: Astonish, Extrasensory, Needle Arm, Stomp.
    Gen 4: Stomp.
    Gen 5: Steamroller, Stomp.
Gen 6: Body Slam, Dragon Rush, Flying Press, Heat Crash, Phantom Force, Shadow Force, Steamroller, Stomp.

Z-Move effects

When a Pokémon is holding Normalium Z and uses its Z-Power, Minimize turns into Z-Minimize and eliminates any stat drops applied to the user, in addition to its usual effect as above.
