I was doing sword and shield on Nintendo Switch and I saw a Mandibuzz in the wild on route 9. I tried to defeat it by using Hatterene's psychic (I didn't know that Mandibuzz was a dark type then) but it actually worked as a neutral move. I thought dark types were immune to psychic type moves. By the way, my Hatterene had the ability Anticipation.

I think this "Mandibuzz" is Backpacker Barbara's Vullaby on Route 8. Route 8 has Crustle and Falinks, and it's probable that OP is misremembering the events.
OK then. I might be wrong, since I don't have a good memory.
Also, What is OP a slang for?
OP is short for "original poster," that is, the person who originally posted the question/answer.

Also flagging for staff's attention.
“It’s not possible; you must’ve misremembered due to (blank)” is a perfectly valid answer to questions like this, esp without any video.

Clearing flags under this notion

Op, is it possible to try to recreate the event and screen record it using the screen capture icon? If not, the above may be the best possible answer

Things that can make a psychic attack hit a dark Pokemon: miracle eye, ring target
Things that can remove Mandibuzz's dark type: camouflage, conversion, conversion 2, magic powder, reflect type, soak, transform, color change, protean, libero
Things that can change psychic (the move)'s psychic type: normalize, electrify
If none of these happened, then you remembered wrong.
