Gen 9 UU Specially Defensive

Tinkaton @ Leftovers
Ability: Mold Breaker
Tera Type: Flying
EVs: 252 HP / 80 Atk / 176 SpD
Careful Nature
- Gigaton Hammer
- Knock Off
- Stealth Rock / Thunder Wave / Swords Dance
- Encore / Swords Dance

The standard specially defensive set that utilizes Tinkaton's good Fairy/Steel typing and its support movepool for Gen 9 UU. Gigaton is used for a powerful Steel STAB. Knock Off is used to cripple opposing Pokemon switching in and scares Pokemon such as Gengar and Espathra. Stealth Rock is used to setup rocks, even vs Hatterene due to Mold Breaker. Thunder Wave can be used to slow down fast Pokemon such as Espathra. Swords Dance can make Tinkaton hit harder while still being a defensive Pokemon. Encore lets you stop Pokemon such as Espathra from setting up on you by locking them into the move they previously used. Flying is used as the Tera Type since it gets rid of Tinkaton's Ground weakness and lets Tinkaton take neutral damage from fire moves.

Gen 9 Doubles UU

Tinkaton @ Assault Vest
Ability: Own Tempo
Tera Type: Steel / Water
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Fake Out
- Gigaton Hammer
- Knock Off
- Play Rough / Stone Edge / Feint

Fake Out prevents an opposing Pokémon from acting for a turn, giving Tinkaton's ally a safe opportunity to set up or snag a KO. Gigaton Hammer is a powerful Steel STAB that does good damage to most neutral targets. Knock Off is just a great move, removing opposing Pokémon's valuable items. Play Rough is Fairy STAB, notably hitting Iron Jugulis and newcomer Brute Bonnet super effectively, while Stone Edge can surprise Pokémon like Gyarados and Skeledirge thinking they could take a hit well. Feint is a cool option that breaks Protect from opposing Pokémon that try to block an attack (opponents will likely try to Protect against Fake Out and Gigiaton Hammer) or stall out Tailwind/Trick Room, and letting Tinkaton's ally finish them off. Feint can also be used to KO a faster, weakened Pokémon.

Assault Vest makes Tinkaton a great sponge against special attackers. Own Tempo grants Tinkaton an immunity to the ever-present Intimidate. Tera Steel gives Gigaton Hammer extra bonking power, while Tera Water can be used to remove Tinkaton's Fire/Ground weaknesses in a pinch.

Feint is an extremely situational competitive move, and even has less BP than Fake Out.
Feint can be used outside of the first turn and how is it extremely situational in doubles? Protect is very common and Feint isn't used for dealing high damage—it is meant to break foe's protection for your teammate or a priority move that can finish off severely weakened Pokemon.

Doubles support (Gholdengo buddy)

Tinkaton @ Leftovers
Ability: Mold Breaker
Tera Type: Steel
EVs: 252 HP / 76 Def / 180 Spe or 252 HP / 76 SpD / 180 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Gigaton Hammer
- Protect
- Thunder Wave
- Helping Hand

--

Mold Breaker allows Tinkaton to ignore Gholdengo's Good as Gold ability, paired with Helping Hand, this can help the pair dish out some serious damage. Thunder Wave will also work on on opposing Gholdengo, allowing for your Gholdengo to outspeed others.

With this EV spread + Jolly nature, Tinkaton should outspeed opposing Gholdengo (or Pokemon with base 84 speed or lower) that don't have the Choice Scarf or Tailwind or something. The remaining EVs would be put into bulk, and can easily be altered depending on the needs of the team.

Helping Hand Allows Tinkaton to buff teammates, Thunder Wave allows speed control (and can sometimes help in a pinch) Protect Incase something is threatening but you can't switch, and Gigaton Hammer because of Steel STAB that can deal decent damage if not resisted. Tera Steel to boost power of Gigaton Hammer, but you could also use Tera grass if you're worried about Spore/Sleep Powder, or even Tera Dragon to turn Fire weakness into resist, and Ground weakness to neutral.

As for teammates, in case it wasn't obvious, I recommend Gholdengo, but for other teammates I recommend Pelliper, because it has Tailwind and with Drizzle can get rid of Tinkaton and Gholdengo's Fire Weakness.

Gen 9 Monotype
Specially defensive support

Tinkaton @ Leftovers
Ability: Mold Breaker
EVs: 252 HP / 252 SpD / 4 Atk
Careful Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Thunder Wave
- Knock Off
- Foul Play / Gigaton Hammer

You'd think the Pokemon with a massive hammer would have an equally massive Attack stat, but I guess not. Fortunately, Fairy/Steel is also a great defensive typing, so we can make this work. The EVs, Nature and Leftovers help Tinkaton take special attacks pretty well -- helpful with things like Gholdengo and Flutter Mane running around. The rest was put into Attack to let Tinkaton do a bit more damage. Stealth Rock is Stealth Rock. Thunder Wave helps out in the hyper offensive meta against Flutter Mane, Chien-Pao, and other speedy powerhouses. Knock Off is easily spammable and it's almost always beneficial to remove items when you can. Foul Play is nice against high-Attack opponents if you want to invest in EVs elsewhere, while Gigaton Hammer is STAB that helps Chien-Pao and Baxcalibur from wiping the floor with it.

Tinkaton @ Assault Vest/ Life Orb
Ability: Mold Breaker
Tera Type: Ground
EVs: 248 HP / 196 Atk / 64 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Gigaton Hammer
- Knock Off
- Play Rough / Tera Blast
- Ice Hammer

Knock off is to get rid of most Pokemon with leftovers like skeledirge and just held items in general while still doing I decent chunk of damage... I think.

Gigaton hammer is a great move with a base power of 160, but wouldn't do much as intended with tinkaton's average base attack of 75, kinda disappointing but the ev spread for attack can justify that

Play rough is for temporal stab to deal with dark, dragon and fighting types, duh, before you terastalize into a ground type.

Ice hammer is for coverage...

I chose the ground type for our tera type just to kinda stun the opponent and not give them an idea of what to think of, since who'd think of tera ground tinkaton, unless you have your opponent would have chien-pao, which you can just use gigaton hammer on :)

Tinkaton @ Lum Berry / Life Orb
Ability: Mold Breaker
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Play Rough
- Knock Off
- Gigaton Hammer / Stone Edge
- Swords Dance

Play Rough is your primary STAB and Knock Off will always be a viable option. Gigaton Hammer hits haaaard, but Stone Edge can also be used for wider coverage.

Why was "never" edited out the sentence? Now, it says "Knock Off will not be a viable option."

Tinkaton @ Leftovers
Ability: Mold Breaker
EVs: 252 HP / 84 Atk / 172 SpD
Careful Nature
- Gigaton Hammer
- Knock Off
- Stealth Rock / Thunder Wave / Encore
- Stealth Rock / Thunder Wave / Encore

Explanation: Gigaton Hammer is STAB, Knock Off is a very viable move that has a lot of offensive utility, Stealth Rock is a hazard, Thunder Wave is to slow down Pokemon that are speedy sweepers ; such as Dragapult, and if if gets KOed by a physical sweeper, Stealth Rock can activate if you used it. Encore prevents set up, or makes them set up for 3 turns, while you can happily destroy them with Knock Off and Gigaton Hammer. Overall this set has a lot of utility.

Hope This Helped!
