Recently, there has been an increased amount of flirty, suggestive and overly personal content flowing around both the chatroom and on users' walls. In good will of keeping the site family-friendly, and keeping users safe and comfortable, the staff team has decided the Pokémon Database is not the place to have online romance or share overly personal and private information as that's not what the site is meant to accomplish, and such topics could scare away new users, or give them an inaccurate image of what Pokémon Database is meant to represent.
Here are our expectations going forward:
- Personal information is not allowed to be shared on the chatroom, or on users' walls. This includes location, name, phone numbers, emails, and selfies.
- No PG-13 or M-rated content anywhere. If you're saying something with the intention of it being sexually, or implied sexual, or even just saying something that can be implied as such, it's unwelcome on the site.
- Please keep flirting away from the site. Don't flood someone's wall full of hearts, "I love you", flirty messages or suggestive implications.
- No asking out other users on the website. If you feel the need to e-date another user, please take it to another platform.
- Please do not discuss personal, sensitive, or triggering topics on the chatroom or users' walls. This can include, but is not limited to discussion about drugs, sex, and self-harm.
- Don't interrogate other users. No forcing or pressuring other users to share any information about themselves, no matter how minor. No begging for any personal info. Don't accuse other users of being dupes or lying. If you feel like something is a concern, let staff handle it. If you feel like you are being harassed or bullied in any means, please let us know.
A good way to consider if something is appropriate for the site or not would be to ask yourself, "Would I be telling this to a random 5-year-old at the park? Would my parents approve of this?" If not, then it isn't welcome on the site.
Please note, we are not trying to ban relationships altogether on this site. The intention here is to keep the site safe for everyone, and encourage those private things to be kept away from the public. You are still allowed to show affection to your close ones online; we are asking to please keep it in moderation and G-rated. You will not be banned from the site for loving other users, showing affection, or e-dating. However, if we feel like you are being inappropriate within those actions with no change upon being spoken to, a ban may be considered for the comfort and safety of everyone.
If you feel uncomfortable with something another user is doing, whether it be something they're saying to someone else, or something they are saying to you, please contact staff. We are here to help and our goal is to keep the site a safe place for everyone. We will handle your concerns in a gentle manner.
