Pokémon GO Spotlight Hours

Since 2020 a recurring weekly event has taken place, where a particular Pokémon species appears much more frequently in the wild for an hour, and various bonuses such as double stardust are present. It began as two events - boosted Pokémon spawns on Tuesdays and the bonus on Thursdays (known as Mystery Bonus Hour) but was soon combined into one.

The event takes place every Tuesday from 6pm-7pm local time, and usually features one of five rotating bonuses for the hour. With the Pokémon spawns being heavily boosted, it can be a great opportunity to earn extra stardust or XP, especially if the Pokémon is easy to catch (and for XP, easy to achieve excellent throws).
